I will never eat another doughnut!
I will dress professionally and do my hair everyday.
I will brush my cat’s teeth.
I will eat my lunch somewhere other than right in front of my computer.
I will shrink my thighs in order to wear that swimsuit that is 5 years old.
Ha...sure I will.
I’ve never been one to make a resolution around the new year. I am definitely a goal maker (sometimes achiever) and to-do lister. The problem I see with resolutions is they are often much too big and overwhelmingly unachievable.
Instead of picking a specific thing like losing weight or never eating doughnuts again my resolution for the next 12 months will be more a set of actions that will result in a process that has the potential to change my life.
I intend to improve my life by changing how I live.
My life is prioritized by what I spend my time on.
I’d like to spend more time with my husband; doing fun activities like building a chicken coop, brewing beer, repainting our house, cooking.
I’d like to spend less time watching TV, staring at facebook, scrolling instagram, eating out.
The action is what is important in your goal or intention.
Actions I will take in order to spend time on the things I desire to be a priority
Informing the man of the house of my intentions
Turning on music instead of Netflix for background noise
Buying good quality ingredients that will make cooking fun and delicious
Setting aside time to research what is required to build a chicken coop, brew beer, and repaint a brick house
Truly listen and engage with my love when we are together.
These are actions that have the potential to re-prioritize and improve my health, relationships, and therefore my life.
