In life we experience many ups and downs. There are moments of great joy and moments of deep despair.
Today I basked in the glow of a dear friend who is expecting her first child in a couple weeks. The office baby shower was packed with co-workers all hoping to share in the happiness of the soon-to-be parents. We gathered together to provide gifts and encouragement for the journey ahead. It was a moment of blissful peace.
What would these moments be like if we didn’t have each other?
How could we ever move through the pain of the death of a loved one without the support of people that care for us?
This is just a reminder. Take the time to connect with the important people in your life. Develop your support system. Keep watch and be aware of what is going on outside of your bubble. You are part of someone’s support system.
A happy moment is nothing without someone to share it with. A tragedy is made even worse with no one to lean on.
Who is in your support system? Who may need your support?
